Two venue owners and a wedding celebrant: The perfect combo ... A humanist celebrant's perspective …
As a Humanist wedding celebrant who conducts non-religious ceremonies, I want the best for my couples. That’s why I always whisper a ‘hurrah’ when Flint Room owners Trish and Lesley recommend that couples contact me.
Why the cheer? Because this is probably the couple’s first time planning a wedding ceremony there are some subtle things they won’t know. Such as the extra value they will achieve in choosing suppliers who work well together. Who have a similar vibe. Who actually talk to one another! If you didn’t know already – not all suppliers do this.
Trish and Lesley are consummate professionals – and like me, they want their clients to have the happiest memories of their event. They make sure they know what other suppliers will be doing on the day, and it makes all the difference to the outcome for the couple. When the suppliers you’ve chosen also share that commitment, it adds an extra little bit of magic! You can’t see it or measure it – it’s the seamlessness and the things that are invisible, the things that work without you even realising that we’ve been making them work that make the difference!
I have conducted many ceremonies at The Flint Room - weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies – and I love working with Trish and Lesley. Like them, I am always way too early arriving at the venue, and so are they. During that time, we laugh a lot, me and Lesley frequently do a shoe swap, we check the little details such as sight-lines for cues, where the musicians will be, what’s the confetti etiquette for the day, confirming we both have the same start time, whether there are any surprise elements in the ceremony.
The combination of laughter, a little prosecco, the eclectic vibe, mutual support, and a unique and vibrant venue makes every ceremony flow and contributes to unforgettable memories for the couple and images for the photographer. We think about it so you don’t have to!
